Located in Cleveland’s University Circle Neighborhood, at East 105th Street and Park Lane, overlooking Rockefeller Park, is the six story Park Lane Villas.
This former luxurious residential hotel was built in 1923 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Recently, Park Lane has undergone a $28 million renovation and rehabilitation by The Finch Group, City Architecture and Marous Brothers Construction.
Jamieson Ricca Windows is very proud to have provided over 1000 new Marvin Windows & Doors for the entire project.
Park Lane is an example of the Beaux-Arts style of Architecture which flourished between 1885 and 1920. New York's Grand Central Terminal and the Boston Public Library are also examples of the Beaux Arts style. The style featured colossal masonry buildings ornamented with garlands, flowers or shields. In addition this style is highlighted with the use of columns, pilasters, balustrades and window balconies.
The renovation project qualified for federal historic tax credits by preserving original architecture and meeting historic guidelines for new products.
The New Marvin Windows and Doors were required to meet the guidelines for a federal historic tax credit project.
Jamieson Ricca precisely replicated the original wood brick mould with new extruded aluminum. With this we were able to provide a new extruded aluminum product with a finish meeting the highest standards of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association. In addition our goal on the project was to provide new windows that precisely matched the original wood window and glass site lines. The Marvin Window sash details also provided the proper historic appearance.
Jamieson Ricca Windows takes great pride in engineering new window systems to match the appearance and site lines of original historic windows. The new window systems while meeting the historic guidelines also provide all the structural and energy performance of the latest window technologies. |
